Here are some preliminary ideas for this page, but we are
open to suggestions:
- A seed/plant exchange. Members can post seeds or plants
that they have a surplus of or that they have a need for, and details of
the proposed exchange. For example: Wanted, Mexican squash seeds; have
spearmint, orange mint, or garlic chive plants for exchange.
- A garden tips segment. Members can post handy hints or
tips for other area gardeners. This might come in particularly handy
because of specific local growing conditions such as moisture (or lack
thereof), alkalinity in the soil and water, late hard freezes, etc. If
you’ve got any offhand, just e-mail them to info@gclpo.org and we’ll
get the ball rolling on this.
- A discussion board, where members can post and reply to
messages regarding various topics relating to gardening. Examples of
topics might be “What happened to the bees?!!!”, Easiest Plants to Grow in
Guadalupe County”, etc. This would most easily be achieved by creating a
Yahoo group on Guadalupe County gardening and having members use that as a
forum.
- A photo display section. Members can send in or e-mail
photos that show off their plants: flowers, vegetables, or a whole garden
view, and we will include the photos on this page with credits given. Send
any photos to info@gclpo.org.
