Meeting called to order by Max Tenorio, President

Approval of minutes and Treasurer’s report

 

A discussion was held on renewable energy and recent information contacts. More to come… Melvin Johnson shared information of the recent project developments in Corona.

 

The next topic of discussion was on the idea of forming a landowner renewable energy organization and/or joining CRELA. Members in attendance discussed the advantages and disadvantages to joining CRELA.  Melvin Johnson suggested Guadalupe County form a landowners association. Comments from members included:

·         To encourage Guadalupe County landowners that are interested to join.

·         Suggestions to form a separate organization would be an advantage.

·         Contact Guadalupe County Commission about forming a Landowner association.

Gino made a motion to start a separate Landowners association, seconded by Melvin Johnson.  Motion passed by majority.  Melvin will bring and share bylaws from Corona Landowners Assoc. Discussion followed.  Information to landowners by newspaper, radio, word of mouth will be followed up a later date.  

 

Bill Ortiz and Max Tenorio presented a brief overview of GCLPO’s activities over the last 3 years- see attached list of highlights and accomplishments 2006-2009

 

A request for motion to make necessary amendments to bylaws to hold election was made.  Discussion followed.  A motion was made by Don Thompson to keep current officers for 120 days pending review of the bylaws.  Motion was 2nd by George Gonzales.

 

 A motion to review the by-laws with the intentions of forming a board was made by Robert and the motion 2nd by Manual Flores.   Vote was unanimous.  The committee for reviewing the bylaws will include: Robert, Gino, Jerry and Eduardo.  Discussion followed.  Gino suggested a five member board.  All present were supportive of the idea. 

 

Public comments at the meeting included:

 

  • An announcement by Gino Lujan on the SW Beef Symposium to held in Tucumcari on January 20, 2010.  A $50.00 registration is due by Jan. 5, 2010. 
  • PWCC will have a meeting January 5, 2010.

 

Motion to adjourn by Joan Ortiz, seconded by Gino.  Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
