GCLPO Recipes
There is, of course, the wealth of nutrition information and collected recipes available from NMSU’s Extension service. You can visit this site at http://cahe.nmsu.edu/pubs/_e/ to browse and download brochures from their Food & Nutrition Listings. There are also NMSU brochures available in printed form only, which can be ordered online or by visiting the County Extension Office. These can certainly be valuable resources.
However, this page has another primary purpose, and one that may turn out to be quite valuable: to collect and publicize some favorite local recipes. We are not specifically eliciting traditional recipes, although those would certainly be welcome. We are simply looking for favorites that Guadalupe County cooks have acquired throughout the years and have found to be worth sharing: perhaps especially simple to prepare, or featuring home-grown meat or fresh garden produce, or good ideas for barbeques, or handy budget meals, or ??? This page is still in the planning stages, but with little trouble we could make it a reality. There will be credit given to the person who contributed the recipe. Just e-mail one or more of your favorite taste-tested recipes to info@gclpo.org or give them to Yolanda Tenorio (phone 472-3210), and we’ll begin posting them. Thanks for input on this!
