Ward Brothers Tractor in Clovis is an honest, reliable, and reasonably-priced source for used tractors and related equipment. They conduct auctions at regularly-scheduled intervals, and they take equipment consignments.

The Southwest Grassfed Livestock Alliance (SWGLA, pronounced “swĭg'-la”), in its own words, is “an alliance of producers, land managers, conservationists, and researchers that seeks to improve human, ecological and animal health, and strengthen local agricultural communities by educating producers, and the public about grassfed livestock products”. EVSolar “specializes in the design and installation of fully integrated solar electric, solar hot water, wind, water pumping and emergency back-up systems for residential and business applications… and features a full line of products, including solar panels, inverters, solar electric and solar hot water systems and components.” This is a knowledgeable and reputable merchant.

Ranchlinks.com is a source for thousands of ranch and livestock links. Categories are listed, with links from each. Examples of categories include cattle, barns and metal buildings, commodity futures, fencing, rodeos & cowboys, and stockyards and sale barns. (By the way, the GCLPO is listed under the Associations – Livestock category.)

The New Mexico Hay Association maintains a web site at www.nmhay.com/ with alfalfa market information, and also publishes hay for sale and hay wanted ads. You can post a hay wanted ad for free, but you must be a member to post hay for sale.

 

The New Mexico Farm & Livestock Bureau maintains its web site at www.nmfarmbureau.org/

 

The Dairy Producers of New Mexico publishes the New Mexico statutes dealing with livestock on its web site. Click here for the link to the state livestock laws, which includes everything from fencing regulations, impounding stray animals, driving livestock on a highway at night (it’s illegal), to penalties for infractions. An interesting read.

The Livestock Marketing Information Center (LMIC) has provided economic analysis and projections about issues and conditions concerning the livestock industry since 1955.

 

The Campaign to Reclaim Rural America is, in its own words, "A broad base coalition of agricultural producers, agriculture organizations, small businesses, laborists and conservationists working to save family farms, ranches and Rural America."
